I’m having this same issue. I don’t have ā€œtimber.scss.iquidā€ under Assets either.

Does the store need to be active? I still have it password protected at the moment.

Hi there, just ran into this too when setting up shop.

The best way to remove the ShopPay option is in the settings area for your store.

Go to Settings → Payments and find the ShopPay section.

There you can uncheck ā€œShop Pay Installmentsā€ and that will remove the text from your product page.

This is much cleaner than hiding in using CSS

Take care,

Greg

I’m using the new Dawn theme and have the same issue… but I don’t have a theme.css file or timber.css file. Please help!

@maxrichter ,

You can add it in base.css file.

Thanks!

See my reply, just disable it in the payment settings

Thanks!

Mine does not have the mentioned asset file. How can I still remove the shop pay button?

Here is website url: https://x8zcisuyowybun09-60365570239.shopifypreview.com

I figured it out. Simply go to Actions- Edit Code- Sections

Under Sections select product-template.liquid

in the 100-200 range there should be a line that reads: {{ form | payment_terms }}

Delete that line and save. Problem solved.

hi there -

this solution is not working for me.

i have the icon theme version 2.0 and my asset file does not have a timber file. I also would like to remove shop pay and only have afterpay listed on my site. any suggestions? thank you!

Sorry you are facing this issue, it would be my pleasure to help you.

Welcome to the Shopify community!
Thanks for your good question.

Please share your site URL,
I will check out the issue and provide you a solution here.

@Joaquin_Orellan is in the right track, but I’d like to complement the answer.

There’s a quick guide on how to ADD this Shop Pay message. This can be done in the automatic or manual way. Manual is what Joaquin described and the solution would be, as he suggested, to delete the line

{{ form | payment_terms }}

from whatever file also has the following tag:

{% form 'product', product ... %}

For the automatic fix, however, you’d probably just need to go to the Admin page, go to Theme and remove it over there.

I hope this helps!

Quick note: adding the CSS tag is not a good idea. If Shopify changes the behavior of this Shop Pay message (which you have no control over), the classes might change unexpectedly. This fix is not very good performance wise as well because you will still be rendering the message to the DOM and the script Shopify runs to add it will also run on the client’s browser.

Nothing working for me
