Is there a way to remove Standard shipping option Without deleting general shipping rates?

When you are setting up your products, you will want to be sure that you have un-selected the “This is a physical product” option that you see in the Shipping section. Here’s a screenshot of what this looks like when you’re first entering in your products:
If you set up your products this way, when they are added to the cart and the customer proceeds to the checkout, it will only ask for a billing address and payment information. It will entirely skip the shipping method page, as it’s not needed for products that don’t require shipping.

You were wondering if there is a way to remove the ‘Standard Shipping’ option in the checkout, without deleting the ‘General Shipping Rates’.
You should be able to remove or add a shipping rate to any shipping zone, all while leaving the rest of the shipping zones completely intact. It looks like you have entered Australia as the shipping address for this test order. Can you confirm if this rate is a flat shipping rate, or a calculated shipping rate? Based on the rounded off number of $10 I am guessing you have added ‘standard’ as a flat rate. Either way, to remove a rate you can follow the following steps:
- Navigate to Settings > Shipping & Delivery.
- Click Manage next to the shipping profile in question - presumably General.
- Locate the shipping zone that you want to remove the standard shipping rate from.
- Click the 3 dots next to the standard rate and then select Delete.
- Click Save in the top right to make sure those changes are kept.
Keep in mind - any rates that you remove from a shipping zone will affect every region in that zone. For example if you have a zone that includes all of Europe and you delete the ‘standard shipping’ rate, it will be removed for all of Europe. If you wanted to be more precise about which regions get specific rates, then you should add them into their own shipping zone, where you can add/remove rates as you wish.
Have you already explored the option of using Carrier Calculated Shipping rates? Shopify Shipping is available in certain regions including Australia and is free to use. You can use it to dynamically calculate the shipping cost in the checkout, so that it is always accurate. You can then purchase & print the labels right from within your admin!
Yes, you can remove Standard shipping method using the ShipRight app.

Open the ShipRight and click on the Create rule button.

Click on the Select this combination button under Essential 1.

Set a rule name.

Add Standard shipping methods in the shipping field.

Click Save.
That’s it! Now Standard shipping methods will be hidden from all customers at checkout.
