How to remove store address from customer login code email cinfirmation?

Topic summary

Users are concerned about their physical store address appearing in the login code confirmation email sent to customers, viewing this as a privacy and safety risk.

Initial Confusion:

  • One user suggested editing the email template in Shopify Admin > Notifications > User account login, but this was quickly corrected as unhelpful since no editable template exists for this specific login code email.
  • The issue was flagged as potentially violating GDPR disclosure requirements.

Support Runaround:

  • Multiple users reported being passed between Shopify support and theme support with no resolution, creating frustration.
  • Screenshots show the store address prominently displayed in the login code emails.

Resolution:

  • A Shopify representative confirmed the issue has been fixed in a recent platform update.
  • Store addresses should no longer appear in these automated emails.

The discussion appears resolved through a platform-level fix rather than requiring individual store customization.

I don’t want my address to be shown to customer in the login code confirmation email. How can I remove it?

@kamehameha , well this is possible, if you go to your Shopify Admin then Notification, and then user account login, you can edit the HTML format to adjust the code by removing the store link, this is something with liquid code knowledge. you can do it easily, if not let me know if I can assist you with this. thanks

NO, it isn’t possible because there is no email template for this specific login code email to edit in this menu. ‘User account login’ is not a template so this is fairly unhelpful. Shopify are literally disclosing physical addresses to large amounts of people making this a safety risk, not to mention not disclosing this to business owners under GDPR law.

Did you find a way to fix this issue?

I am having the same issue, and Shopify support couldn’t help me. They suggested I contact theme support, but now theme support got back to me asking me to contact Shopify… such a headache!"
