How to remove the default language selector in Dawn team?

Topic summary

A user implemented a custom bilingual setup on their Dawn theme site, which created a functional language switcher. However, a second default language selector appeared that doesn’t work and cannot be accessed through standard header/footer settings.

Problem: The non-functional default selector needs to be removed while keeping the custom working switcher.

Solution provided: Two community members offered the same CSS-based fix:

  • Add custom CSS to the theme.liquid file before the </body> tag
  • The CSS targets the default selector with display: none !important; to hide it
  • One responder noted the selector uses a third-party translation service (name filtered by community rules)

Status: The issue appears resolved with the CSS solution, though the original poster hasn’t confirmed implementation success.
