How to restore the cart button and fix the 404 error on an ecommerce site?

Topic summary

Cart/checkout functions on an ecommerce site appear broken: the “add to cart” action is visible on products, but clicking it redirects to a 404 error page. The site owner’s sister lost contact with the original web editor, and the requester wants to restore the cart button and get checkout working again, or alternatively undo whatever changes removed it.

Key points raised:

  • The provided site link currently looks like a standard business site; the responder couldn’t find any products visible.
  • A troubleshooting question is raised about whether the Shopify “Online Store” sales channel is enabled/available in the Shopify admin, implying the store/checkout setup might be disabled or misconfigured.

Status: No resolution yet; the thread is in early diagnosis with questions about the correct site and Shopify sales channel configuration.

Hi all,

I am trying to work on my sister’s site after she lost contact with her web editor. Unfortunately I am not as tech savvy as he was. Now that my sister is ready to expand, she wants the option to add the cart button back to her site. I see the add to cart action on her products, but this just leads back to a 404 error page.

Can someone help get the checkout functions back? If not how do I reverse all of this?

Thanks so much in advance for any insight.

Hi

I have just checked out the website that you included in your message asking for help but I can see any products on the website and Im wondering if this is the correct ecommerce website as at the moment it looks like a standard business website…

Also does your sister have the Online Store available as one of the sales channels within her Shopify Admin Dashboard. ?
