How To: Selling Selected Products Only, the rest are just for Catalog

Hi,

Is there any documentation that we can only sell selected products on our Shopify shop? Currently, we have enabled a Catalog Type website where customers only browse our products. But in the future, we want to sell just a selected product.

Your responses will be highly appreciated.

Hi @ihsupport0000 I don’t think so that there is any documentation like this is shopify, but there is a workaround to accomplish the same.

You can just all the products in the store and just add the pricing and inventory to those product that you want to sell, and for rest of the products you just need to show 0 inventory so customer will not able to buy those products but able to browse from those product as it will show Sold out.

And in case you will not want to show Sold out button then in this scenario you can hide the sold out button or you can add a pre booking button, which ever works well for you.

Hi,

Thanks for the solution. It gives me an idea how to implement a conditional statement for the add to cart button. What we come up with is;

If the item has stocks then show Add to Cart button. If the item has no stocks then show Inquire Now button.
