How to send a shipping confirmation email after the label has been purchased?

I just fulfilled an order by purchasing the USPS label but I guess I forgot to check the “Send the shipping confirmation” box because I don’t see a “shipping confirmation email was sent to..” on the timeline.

How I can send a shipping confirmation now that the order has been fulfilled and label purchased?

One workaround is to add an additional tracking number.

On the order page, edit the tracking options and use the same tracking number. This will provide the option to select or deselect notifications.

@Mirdas i’m having the same issue and that’s not the right solution. there’s no option to “edit tracking” when you have purchased the label. there’s also no way to add another tracking number

Since the label has already been purchased and the order is marked as fulfilled in Shopify, the shipping confirmation email cannot be triggered again from the original fulfillment.

In this case, you have two practical options:

  1. Manually share the tracking details
    You can send the tracking number directly to your customer via email.

  2. Re-trigger by updating fulfillment (limited cases)
    In some cases, if the option is available, you can try adding or editing the tracking number on the fulfillment and enable the “Send notification” option. However, this is not always possible once the label is purchased, as noted in this thread.

If you specifically want Shopify to send the shipping confirmation email, the only guaranteed method is to:

  • Unfulfill the order

  • Recreate the fulfillment and generate a new label

Please note that this will cancel the existing label and may incur additional charges.
