How to set up countries that can VIEW my website

Topic summary

A store owner selling only in the US encountered an issue where international visitors couldn’t access their website, despite wanting the site viewable worldwide.

Problem identified:

  • Adding “ALL countries” in Shopify Settings > Markets didn’t resolve the access restrictions
  • Only 1-3 countries were active; others remained inactive due to missing shipping configurations

Solution found:

  • The issue stemmed from security apps (specifically Kedra Shield) that had location blocking features
  • These apps were blocking certain countries by default
  • The owner whitelisted previously blocked countries within the app settings

Status: Likely resolved after adjusting the security app’s country whitelist settings. An alternative app (Ultimate Country Blocker) was also suggested for managing country-specific access and monitoring traffic.

Hi, I only sell in the US but want people from anywhere in the world to be able to see my website and browse through it. People in other countries are not able to access my website (eDiamondsAndDesigns.com). I tried adding “ALL countries” in the Settings, Markets but it’s still not working. It shows me 1-3 active but I don’t know what 3 besides the US, and the rest are not active because I have not set up shipping info, but I do not want to sell there.

Can anyone help please?

Hey there Elizabeth @Elizabeth007 It would be a good idea to check if you have any apps installed that could have location blockers of any sort. These apps could be related to stuff such as shipping so you can disable them to see if they are the ones causing it.

Great idea. I did install some apps to block bots and other interferences we’re having, and found in the Kedra Shield app an area to whitelist the countries we want to allow access. The 3 countries people trying to work on the site that were blocked were in the list of blocked. Hopefully this is solved now. Thank you!

You could try Ultimate Country Blocker. You can block or allow any country outside US from visiting your website. There is a visitor log for you to monitor incoming traffic.
