Currently we only ship to the US and Canada. However, I know there are a lot of International customers that use shipping forwarding companies or other US addresses to have their orders shipped to them in their home countries. I would like to be able to set it up where people can purchase/checkout from other countries, but they can only have the item shipped to a US address. The way my shop is set up now it appears they can’t check out if I don’t ship to their country. Is there a way to do this?

Your customers could check out if their shipping address is located in the USA, and their billing be different. This would need to be communicated to your customers before they enter a shipping address for ss soon as they put their country that is outside of the USA Canada Shopify will give the generic error message. You can change this as well to indicate to your customers.

To use our app, Shopify requires a feature called “Third Party Calculated Rates” to use any third-party shipping calculator app. As long as you are not on the Shopify Basic plan, you can include this feature for free by paying for your Shopify store on an annual basis. If you set your store billing to be annual Shopify also provides a discount on the total cost of your store. If you do not switch to annual billing, the Third Party Carrier Calculated rates feature is an additional $20 a month. We are sorry that we can’t provide a workaround for this. This is a Shopify feature and requirement that is, unfortunately, unavoidable.

I wasn’t sure if they’d be unable to add to cart, but from what you’re saying as long as they enter the US address and not a non-US address for shipping they should be able to check out.

Yes, however, since you only ship to USA or Canada this will need to be conveyed to the customer before entering a shipping address. Or, if you change the generic error message from Shopify that pushed the customer to call your store or select a USA only address (this will help prevent a loss of sale hopefully).
