How to set up shipping zones in Shopify for different locations?

Hello! I’m having issues setting up Shipping Zones that are fulfilled by different Locations/Shipping Origins. Any help or suggestions would be hugely appreciated…

I need a UK based Location to fulfil only UK destined orders, and a Germany based Location to fulfil only Eurozone destined orders.

What I have setup:

One ‘General Shipping Rates’ profile with all products assigned to it, and both UK and Germany Shipping Origins/Locations configured with Shipping Rates for the Zones they need to fulfil:

UK Market
One Shipping Zone (UK) with Shipping Rates assigned under the UK based Shipping Origin/Location

Eurozone Market
Eurozone countries set up as individual Shipping Zones under the Germany based Shipping Origin/Location, with Shipping Rates for each.

Order Routing rules: Minimize split fulfilments → Stay within the destination market.

‘Fulfill online orders from this location’ setting is enabled for both Locations.

No tracked product Inventory.

In the screenshot you’ll see a Shipping Zone and Rate set up for Austria under the Germany based Shipping Origin/Location. Despite this, when trying to ship to an Address is Austria, the checkout tells me “Your order cannot be shipped to the selected address. Review your address to ensure it’s correct and try again, or select a different address.”

I’m fairly confident everything is configured completely, but that I’m missing something fundamental with the way Shipping works in Shopify here…

Any ideas please?

Hey, Pls Check your product inventory settings if you set proper inventory for your products?

Hi @Sonya_2025 . Thanks for the fast response. It was indeed the inventory settings, as you suggest. When selecting ‘Bulk edit’ all products, the columns show the products are available in both markets. I’d consfused this with actually enabling them for each shipping origin/location within the products themselves. I’ve now done this for each product and the shippings rates work. Many thanks!
