How to setup a validation for a customer who tries to re-subscribe to the signup form?

Hi Community,

I would like to know as how can I setup a validation on the sign-up form or popup where in if the the same customer uses the same email address and tries to subscribe, the form should display a message “You are already subscribed!”?

Hi - Did you ever find a solution to this? I find the current process most unsatisfactory - a customer who is already subscribed, who then subscribes again, is taken to the challenge screen, fills this in, then - nothing - back to the home page! No polite message telling them they are already subscribed!
