How to solve discount codes showing as line items in Shipstation?

We are having a recent issue with Shopify-Shipstation. (We have many, actually, but Shipstation doesn’t know how to fix any of them.) Shipstation recently modified something related to Shopify discount codes that are entered, not automatic ones. Now they show up as line items. We also use Finale Inventory so we have to manually create each unique discount code as an item which slows down production since scanners pop up an error for every code that hasn’t been created as a line item. Shipstation claimed they didn’t make any changes but they did because the order info even looks different in their programs. Has anyone else run into this issue and if so, what have you done? I feel like I’m creating discount codes everyday in Finale just to appease Shipstation who doesn’t want to admit that they made changes.

If you’re finding that creating unique discount codes as line items is slowing down your production, you could look into automating this process. For example, you may be able to use a third-party integration or develop a custom script to automatically create line items for each unique discount code

Thank you. It just seems like an unnecessary step/app since it should still be viewed as part of payment and not anything product related. I’m not entirely sure why they needed to change it. Before, it would come in as a payment line but it has changed in the last 3 weeks or so.
