How to stop add to cart buttton redirecting to cart page on product page

Hi,

I am using Impulse version 5.5.3. Whenever I click on “Add to Cart” on the product page, it automatically redirects me to the Cart page.

I would like to disable this, and allow the customer to stay on the product page instead.

Any advice on how I can achieve this with this theme?

Hi Gavin,

Many themes have a theme setting that you can toggle that controls the add-to-cart behavior, usually under either a “Cart” or “Product” related heading. You can check if there is a setting to change that within your Theme Editor (it might be at Theme Settings > Cart Page). If not, then it has to be adjusted in the theme code.

If you can’t find any option to stop redirecting to the Cart page after clicking “Add to Cart” within the Theme Editor, I suggest you contact the theme provider to have them solve it.

The following instruction below may help you to achieve this.

  • From Shopify Admin > Online Store > Theme > Customize.
  • Click on Theme Setting > Cart and choose Drawer type so after adding products to the cart, the small cart pop-up will appear and let customers still stay on the cart page.
  • Hit Save

I checked my theme setting and found it was on the Drawer type. Maybe my theme has some bugs.

Finally, I solved this problem. I found I have installed an app called Variant Option Product Options, In its setting, it changed my settings of the Shopify cart. When I changed the setting in this app, the add to cart stopped redirecting to the cart page. Hoping it could help others who are facing the same problem.
