I was adding a Return Policy to my store. Instead of creating my own, I tried editing the template. At the bottom, the button says “Replace with Template”. I clicked on that, and viewed the policy in my store. I then discovered that, instead of posting the edited template, the policy posted was exactly the same as the original template! How do I edit the template so I actually post the policies I want to?
Hey there, @jpshivell .
Thank you for posting your question here on our Community forums. I am more than happy to provide you with some suggestions for updating your legal policies.
Just to ensure I’m on the same page, are you hoping to make changes to the template for your legal policies, instead of writing new ones completely? If so, you can first click on ‘Replace with template’, make your desired changes, and then S****ave the changes. For example:
Once you have done this, it is worth going into your navigation settings to ensure the policy is linked as expected. By default, links to your policies are listed in your checkout footer. A link to your refund policy is also listed on your order review page. A link to your shipping policy is listed on your product pages and your cart. You can update your menus to include these policies by following these steps:
- Go to
Online Store>Navigation. - Click the name of the menu where you want to add the policy.
- Add the policies that you want to the menu:
- Click
Add menu item. - Enter a name for the policy’s menu item, and then search for your policy.
- Click
Add.
- Click
- Click `Save menu.```
Please give that a try and let me know how it goes! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach back out. I will keep an eye out for your reply so that we can get this sorted out together.
