I’m trying to switch to the new theme, where new theme images are not reflecting despite I deleted my current content. It still shows old theme images.
Hi @rameshallu ,
When switching to a new theme, old images can still appear if they’re stored in your Shopify Files or copied from your old theme’s settings.
To fix it:
- Upload a fresh copy of the new theme (don’t duplicate the old one).
- Delete unused images from Content → Files and the Assets folder.
- Avoid copying over
settings_data.json— it carries old image links. - Hard refresh or check in incognito mode to clear cached images.
That should give you a clean start with only your new theme’s assets.
Well, I tried all of these methods, I’m not sure why this basic thing is so much difficult. Btw, I’m using shifting from one free theme to another free theme.
Yeah,
This the great approach. if you need help to implement this then you can share store URL so that I can take a look into it.
Thanks
Thank you, please look at it and suggest a fix if you can. Store is not implemented yet, just looking at few themes.
i found that this requires to check in your store.
Would you like to share the collab code with me so that I can take a look into it.
Thanks
