How to track the sales for each salesperson?

I am thinking about hiring two sales people for an online store. Is there a way to associate a sale with the correct person? I suppose I could use discount codes in some way, but would like to understand better options.

I have no experience with affiliate programs, but if that will accomplish what I had described then I would need more details.

There are a few ways you can achieve this. The first option is completely free. You will simply request that your staff add a note to each order with their name. The only downside is that you will do manual work to go through each order and calculate the commission. However, you can export your orders and sort them for easier viewing.

The other options are to use apps. Some paid POS apps allow you to track and calculate the sales commission, such as Sales Rep Commission. However, these apps generally have a monthly fee. Another app route is to use an order tag app such as Auto Tags, or AOD Auto Tags which has a free option.

You could use discount codes - we have some clients that do this to track influencer sales.If you don’t mind some manual work to associate them after the fact, I would suggest using order tags or an order metafield. Then you could export the orders and use some Excel formulas to calculate any commissions.

Alternately, you could use your Report Toaster app and we could help you create custom reports that surface the salesperson data, automatically calculate any commissions, etc. Feel free to take a look and let us know if you install and we can help you get setup.

Honestly, this option with adding a note sounds good to me, if you don’t mind spending some extra time on this.
