Hi hope someone can help
My current site is debut and we want to move to the Sense theme. but all my thumnail pictures and grid photos are Iframe pictures and product details these are all are provided by a third party who only support debut.
I’ve tried to find the locations where to put the code i already have in my debut liquid files but can’t find where to put the text in the Sense Theme Liquid files to make it work in the same way.

When migrating from the Debut theme to the Sense theme, you’ll need to make adjustments to your liquid files to ensure that your existing code, including the iframe pictures, product details, and other customizations, work correctly.
Here’s a general guideline on how to proceed:
-
Review the structure and organization of the Sense theme: Take some time to familiarize yourself with the file structure and organization of the Sense theme. Compare it with the Debut theme to understand any differences and locate the corresponding liquid files.
-
Identify the relevant liquid files: Determine which liquid files in the Sense theme correspond to the ones you modified in the Debut theme. For example, if you made changes to the product template in Debut, locate the equivalent product template file in the Sense theme.
-
Transfer your custom code: Copy and paste the relevant sections of code from your modified Debut theme liquid files into the corresponding sections of the Sense theme liquid files. Make sure to place the code in the appropriate locations within the existing structure of the Sense theme files.
Thanks for your feedback, I’ve tried and tried to get this to work but the i can’t get the pictures to appear in the correct locations. its so frustrating
To migrate your existing functionality from the Debut theme to the Sense theme while keeping the same iframe pictures, product details, and grid photos provided by a third party, you’ll need to modify the Liquid files in the Sense theme. Here’s a general guide to help you:
- Backup your theme: Before making any changes, creating a backup of your current Sense theme is important. This way, you can easily revert if anything goes wrong during migration.
- Understand the differences: Take time to understand the structural and functional differences between the Debut and Sense themes. Look for the corresponding sections, templates, or snippets in the Sense theme corresponding to the functionality you want to migrate.
- Compare Liquid files: Open the Debut theme’s Liquid files containing the code you need to migrate, and compare them with the corresponding files in the Sense theme. Will help you identify the differences and determine where to place your existing code.
- Customize the Sense theme: Using the Shopify theme editor or a code editor, navigate to the relevant Liquid files in the Sense theme. These may include files such as product-template.liquid, collection-template.liquid, or other relevant section templates.
- Insert the code: Within the identified Liquid files, locate the appropriate sections where you want to insert your existing code. It could be within the product grid loop or other relevant sections. Place your iframe code or code snippets provided by the third party in the appropriate locations within the Sense theme Liquid files.
- Test and debug: After making the modifications, save the changes and preview your website to ensure the functionality works as expected. Test different scenarios, such as browsing products, adding items to the cart, and checking out, to verify that everything functions correctly.
- Fine-tune and iterate: Depending on the complexity of your customization, you may need to fine-tune the code or make further adjustments to ensure seamless integration. Iterate through the process, testing and refining as necessary until you achieve the desired outcome.
Note: As themes can have different structures and customizations, the exact steps and Liquid files may vary. It’s recommended to refer to the theme’s documentation or reach out to the theme developer or Shopify support for specific guidance on migrating from the Debut theme to the Sense theme.
Remember to test thoroughly and keep track of any customizations you make, as theme updates or future changes may require reapplying your modifications.
