How to use/show different product images for the same product in different collections

I have a store that sells decor products which I am looking to sell to both consumers as well as to businesses e.g. restaurants, bars, retail, etc. I want to see if its possible to show different images for the same product based on the collection it is in (collections targeting consumers and home decor and collections targeting decor for bars and restaurants). The product images for consumers won’t always translate well to those for businesses so was hoping there was a solution (code or app) that will allow me to use specific images for the same product depending on what collection I have it in.

This only shows on the collection page. When going to the product page, will the images be the same for all?

Hey @namphan thanks for the reply. I’d like to show different images on the product pages. Many of the products are showing the product inside homes, but for this new collection I am making for bars and restaurants I’d like to only show the product themselves and possibly images of them inside bars and restaurants.

How do you differentiate your customers through the collections they visit?

In my opinion, you should distinguish through the customer’s account, then it will be easier for you to set up display for it. By default, it will show product images for consumers, but if the customer logs in, it will switch and show additional collections for businesses.

Hey @namphan this is more of an SEO and ads play where if someone is searching for “(collection title + decor for bars)” that my bar/restaurant collection would show in search results and they would get to that page, but if someone is searching for the same types of products or collection e.g. “kitchen decor” they would get to the collection for individuals and homes (not bars). The products would be the same but the type of customer and where the products would be used is different and that’s why I am hoping to show images that reflect the setting of where the product would be used.

You are just going from collection to product. There will be cases where customers go directly to the product, how will this be displayed?

Hi @namphan In that case it would just show the product as it currently is on the store on the product page.
