How to verify ID for Austria-based online payments?

There is confusing information about ID verification for Shopify Payments, at least for Austria.

During the call with support, I was said that I have to confirm my business address.

Meanwhile, on the help page, it is written that I have to confirm my personal address with the Residence registration (meldezettel) AND Company registration Link https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/payments/shopify-payments/shopify-payments-requirements

Moreover on my webshop I have no option to upload company registration documents.

Therefore I have questions:

what exactly do I have to verify?

If I have to upload both documents (personal and business) - how I can do it?

p.s. I am trying to verify my ID already for 3 weeks I am so frustrated with confusing information.

I can definitely appreciate the process can feel confusing, I’d like to work through this together with you so we can get this resolved as quickly as possible. The place to upload the documents is via your store’s admin - there should be banner there, something like this:

Can you see this banner on your store’s admin? Clicking into “submit documents” should take you to a secure upload page, where it will outline the exact documents needed and where these documents can be safely added. A guide for the documents we can accept for our Austrian merchants are:

Identity Documents

  • Reisepass (Passport)
  • Führerschein (Driver’s license) — scans of front and back are required
  • Personalausweis Republik Österreich (Identity card) — scans of front and back are required
  • Aufenthaltstitel (Residence permit)
  • Identitätskarte für Fremde (Identity card for foreigners) — scans of front and back are required
  • Fremdenpässe (Alien’s Passport)
  • Konventionsreisepass (Passport for asylum seekers)
  • Duldungskarte (Temporary residence permit) — scans of front and back are required

Personal Address Documents
If an address verification document is required for an individual, it must show the individual’s personal name and address.

  • Bestätigung der Meldung / Meldezettel (Residence registration)
  • Rechnung für Strom oder Gas (Utility bill)
  • Kontoauszug (Bank statement)
  • Jahresabschluss-Suche (Financial statements)

Company/Entity Documents

  • Firmenbuchauszug (Commercial register extract)
  • VAT Registration

Company/Entity Address Documents
If an address verification document is required for a company, it must show the company name and address.

  • Firmenbuchauszug (Commercial register extract)
  • VAT Registration
  • Rechnung für Strom oder Gas (Utility bill)
  • Kontoauszug (Bank statement)
  • Jahresabschluss-Suche (Financial statements)
