Hi, we can view session details for specific orders and see that a customer who purchased, came from different paid GoogleAds campaigns. The only way we can seem to do this is to manually click into each individual order and check. The data is clearly recorded - is there a way to view this in a table format?

Hi @Paulthe6th
Yes, it is possible to view session details for specific orders and see the customers’ referral sources, such as different paid Google Ads campaigns, in a table format. However, the exact method to achieve this would depend on your specific system or platform to manage your orders and track customer data. Here’s a general approach you can consider:
-
Access your order management system: Log in to the platform or system you use to manage your orders and customer data. This could be an e-commerce platform, a customer relationship management (CRM) system, or a custom-built solution.
-
Locate the order data: Navigate to the section or menu where you can access your order data. This may be an “Orders” or “Sales” section.
-
Retrieve order details: Identify the specific order or orders for which you want to view session details and referral sources. Typically, there will be options to search or filter orders based on different criteria like order ID, customer name, or date range.
-
Export order data: Look for an option to export the order data. This could be an “Export” button or a similar feature that allows you to download the order details in a structured format such as CSV (Comma-Separated Values) or Excel.
-
Analyze the exported data: Once you have exported the order data, open the file in a spreadsheet application like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
-
Format the data: Use the spreadsheet’s tools to format the data in a table format if it isn’t already. You can adjust column widths, apply filters, and format the table to enhance readability.
-
Locate the referral source column: Check the exported data for a column that contains information about the referral source or the Google Ads campaign associated with each order. This could be a dedicated column or part of a larger column that includes session details.
-
Sort and analyze the data: Sort the table based on the referral source column to group orders by their respective Google Ads campaigns. This will allow you to conveniently see the sessions and orders associated with each campaign.
Hope this helps.
Hi Sampymishra, thanks for the above info really helpful. Our order management system in this instance would be Shopify. I’ve exported our order data but sadly there’s no column for the referral source. I’ll see if I can change the settings on the order exports so we can include this data, as this would be the ultimate solution.
