How will the new shopify update the developers and especially those developers who rely on custom coding for ‘custom features development’?
”Starting April 15, 2026, you will no longer be able to edit or publish new Shopify Scripts. Your existing published Scripts will continue to run until June 30, 2026, when all Shopify Scripts will stop executing.”
That is about Shopify Scripts, Plus-only feature which was sunsetting for several years already.
I guess Plus shops have money to pay for migration to Functions.
I doubt any “developers who rely on custom coding for ‘custom features development’” used Scripts for this.
And if some did, this was discouraged for years.
