Huge issue with diacritics, special characters Ș and Ț

Hello everyone.

This is an incredible important issue that affects thousands of users and stores, from all countries that use these special characters, more specifically “Ș” and “Ț”. (for example, Romania)

They appear in a different font and bolded for over 95% of the system fonts. At first, I thought the fonts miss these letters, but upon further investigation I discovered they do not and the issue is 100% on Shopify side.

Please, Shopify, can you fix this? It should be very simple and would help thousands of store and millions of clients to see their native language 100% correctly.

I will attach proof of my discoveries below, where you can see how Montserrat font and Avenir Next Rounded appear on Shopify versus the correct aspect of the fonts and these special letters “Ș” and “Ț”.

Yes, you can use Fontify: Google & Custom Fonts or any other app that can change fonts and is okay afterwards, but I escalated the issue to Shopify Support also, maybe they will fix it natively.
You can also go to Support Chat and send them this link and ask them to escalate the issue.
The more reports they gate, the higher the chances to fix this will be.

What font did you use in the end? Having the same problem here..
