Hello, I am an online store that sells Korean skincare. I wanted to know how I can improve my website, as I have a low conversion rate with fewer sales. I have also tried running ads in the past. I did get a few sales, but not a lot and I was wondering what might be an issue. Here is the link to my store: https://selenaire.com/

Hi @selenaire

Welcome to the community and happy new year

In general, you have a solid base. It is evident that you put some effort into the store, and you have some aspects done correctly. Collections, menu, some product info.

But your products are sold on a lot of other stores so you have to make a store that is the best you can, but also to have some unique story. I do not like your theme. I know it is Dawn, and it is solid for a start, but somehow those colors pink and black do not work for me. But you did use most of the sections properly, but it needs a bit more content to connect all, to guide customers, and to give some reassurance. For example, your homepage. You have too many banner images, and on wider screens, most of them are really cut off. And the rest of the page is just a collection of products. And while they are needed, you have to split them out with some real content that will give you the opportunity to connect with customers, present some value and trust, and guide them in their shopping journey. You could try with some image/text or rich text sections, but do check this app out.

It has a lot of good sections that you may find in paid themes, but you can use them on their own. Or check them as an idea of what is missing on your site.
And try to add more images of people with your products, videos as well as possible.

Also, spend some time here in comunty, exploring other people’s experiences. Search for " no sales" and " zero sales" as well as “store feedback”. Some things repeat, and some advice you can apply to your store.

And a small plug, we have an app that can be of use for you, maybe not now but in the future. It is better then announsment bar and hero sections combined and it does show important notifications to customers on every page, plus it can have special rules to show on specific pages to specific customers. If you have time, check it out:

Good luck with the sales

Hey @selenaire!

Thanks for posting your Query on Shopify Community. Here you can get most of the best advice regarding your online business.

I had just explore your whole website and here is my honest review.

In term of layout and the UX, your site is really good. It’s attracting the customer that’s a positive sign. But the thing that is lack of building the trust sign. Yes, I see that currently the trust score is 50%. Here are the reasons shared below of why it’s having the very low trust score.

  • Product Page Optimization: I see that you’re are using any badges on the product page. Badges are the way to build the trust for a long-term and prove them how their products are legitimate. See this website product page and learn how they improve it :backhand_index_pointing_right: https://mollyandmoonlondon.com/
  • I see that you have lack of UGC content on your site. UGC is one of the best way to gain more customers, because that way they willing to purchase the products.
See this website on how they improve the product page with the UGC content. Bodibond Adhesive Glue – BODIBOND
  • I see that you’re not showing the compare at price for Bought With This Item which means that it’s misleading the customers. Because on the product card it showing the Percentage Off price but in this case it must show the compare_at_price.

So, once you implement the above changes that I explained above, then you’ll start getting more conversion.

Cheers

Hey @selenaire

Low conversion rate with ads getting some sales but not enough means your store has optimization issues. Korean skincare is competitive, so execution matters. Let me tell you what’s holding you back.

Your cart is redirecting people to a separate page when they add something. That’s killing conversions. Skincare shoppers often need multiple products to build a complete routine, cleanser and toner and moisturizer and serums. When you redirect them to a cart page, you break their shopping flow and most will abandon.

Switch to a slider cart that opens on the same page. Keep people engaged in browsing mode. Korean skincare customers typically buy multiple steps of a routine, so make adding items feel seamless instead of disruptive.

Add a progress bar showing how close they are to free shipping or a discount. When someone sees they’re close to hitting a threshold, they’ll add another product to reach it. Skincare items are often priced where people are right on that edge.

Show complementary products in that cart. Someone adds a cleanser, show them a matching toner or moisturizer from the same line. Someone grabs a serum, suggest other serums or essences that work together. Help them build complete Korean skincare routines right there without navigating away.

Bundle your products and sell at a discounted rate. Korean skincare is perfect for bundling. Create a morning routine bundle, evening routine bundle, travel-size bundle, acne-fighting bundle, hydration bundle, whatever makes sense for your product range. Bundles increase order value while simplifying decisions for customers who don’t know what products work together.

Don’t install separate apps for cart features and bundling. Something like iCart handles all your cart customization like product recommendations, progress bar, bundles, discounts, and more in one place, keeps costs manageable.

Korean skincare customers are educated and want specific information. Make sure your product descriptions explain what each product does, what skin types it’s for, where it fits in a routine, key ingredients and their benefits. If that information isn’t crystal clear, people won’t buy.

Show before and after results if possible. Skincare is visual and people need proof products work. Customer photos and reviews are incredibly valuable for this category.

Fix the cart experience with slider drawer, progress bar, complementary products, and bundles. Strengthen your product education and social proof. Then your ad spend will actually convert instead of just bringing traffic that bounces.

Korean skincare stores have a natural advantage with bundles because customers already think in routines - cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer.

But here’s where most stores get it wrong: they bundle what LOOKS good together instead of what customers actually buy together.

Check your order history. If you see the same 2-3 products appearing in multiple orders, that’s your first bundle. Your customers are already telling you what they want - you just need to package it.

Start with one “routine bundle” based on real purchase patterns. Test it for 2 weeks. Then expand.

Hello @selenaire the store is in pretty good shape to be honest so I’ll just make a few recommendations for improvements rather than additions

The images look good but you could maybe improve on the product gallery by adding in one or two high quality videos on the homepage.

I noticed you also have some bundles created- which is always a great idea. They did seem like quite a few tbh and I think some could do with a bit more variety so that’s something to work on as well.

Hey @selenaire,

I’m Sophia from Tapita AI SEO & Speed optimizer.

Korean skincare is competitive but profitable! Low conversions mean your site isn’t convincing visitors to buy.

Trust is everything in skincare - People worry about authenticity and what goes on their skin. You need:

  • Detailed ingredients and benefits

  • Customer reviews and before/after photos

  • Authenticity guarantees (counterfeit concerns are real)

Site speed - Slow sites kill conversions. Check your PageSpeed score - under 70 means you’re losing sales. Speed optimization can boost conversions 20%

Lack of education - K-beauty needs explanation. Add skin type recommendations, how-to-use guides, and routine builders.

No social proof - Reviews are mandatory for skincare. Start collecting them ASAP.

Unclear differentiation - Why buy from you vs. YesStyle or Amazon? Make your value clear.

SEO is your long-term growth engine - Instead of relying on expensive ads, optimize for searches like “best Korean toner for dry skin” or “snail mucin serum benefits.” You need:

  • Keyword-optimized product titles and descriptions

  • Alt text on all product images

  • Blog content about K-beauty routines and ingredient guides

  • Proper meta descriptions

Quick Wins:

  1. Fix site speed + SEO fundamentals (our Tapita app can handle both)

  2. Add detailed, keyword-rich product descriptions

  3. Get customer reviews (boosts trust + SEO)

  4. Create educational blog content to rank for skincare searches

  5. Optimize all image alt text

What’s your site speed score? Want help identifying which SEO keywords to target?

Hope this helps!
