I cant get my background colors set properly!

Hello! I need help with changing my “search results” page to have a background of white, I had success before by changing one of my theme’s colors, but then it changed the colors for my Home Page’s slideshow buttons.

I want everything the way it is, except the background on my “Search Results” to be white (currently the stars and the reviews text can’t be seen). I want to change my search results background but not have it change my homepages slideshow button color.

Ya I tried that already.. I don’t know what to call, example: “.search { background: white; }” (Which doesnt work)

I meant to also include my website which I must have forgot.
