I Changed the Price of my Product in the Canada Market but Now it Does Not Show The Compare at Price

Topic summary

Compare-at price (the crossed-out original price shown alongside a sale price) appears on the US product page but not for the Canada market. A support reply points to a Shopify setting tied to EU regulations: Settings > Markets > Preferences > “Hide compare-at prices for European Economic Area (EEA) customers,” suggesting disabling it.

After disabling, the issue persists for Canada. The merchant notes they set a fixed Canadian price instead of relying on Shopify’s automatic USD→CAD conversion and asks if compare-at can still display with market-specific pricing.

The support agent later reports seeing the compare-at price displaying on the Canadian product page, implying the change may have propagated or the behavior is now correct.

Key actions suggested:

  • Check Shopify Settings > Markets > Preferences and ensure the EEA “Hide compare-at prices” option is off.
  • Verify market-specific pricing and compare-at fields are set for the Canada market.

Status: Tentative resolution (support can see compare-at in Canada), but the merchant hasn’t confirmed. Open question: how fixed market-specific pricing interacts with compare-at price visibility.

Note: Screenshots and the product link are central to understanding the issue.

It shows the compare at price in America market but not in Canada market

Hi @Simon159

This is Richard from PageFly - Shopify Page Builder App

The issue is actually caused by a change in EU law. It’s taken some time but if you Navigate through Shopify Settings > Markets > Preferences

You will then see a setting ‘Hide compare-at prices for European Economic Area (EEA) customers’ by default this is on, if you disable this your sale prices will work again.

Hope this can help you solve the issue

Best regards,

Richard | PageFly

I did that but its not working. I believe its because I fixed the price for the Canada Market. I do shopify’s automatic conversion from USD to CAD, i made a special price for people in Canada. Is there anyway I could still have a compare at price?

@Simon159 I can see the compare at price showing here:
