I’m generally not a fan of the newsletter popup, and even more so with your store. The homepage has a video and the popup appears just when I’m trying to watch it. For me at least, it’s way better if it’s already minimized. Or just not shown until some other page is visited. The popup showing like 6-7 seconds in is the poorest timing, because ppl are going to be clicking on the video.
Since you’re focused on one product and it’s relatively inexpensive, there really isn’t any need for the “Pay over time with Shop” to be displayed. Also, the product has free shipping (nice job) so that “ Shipping calculated at checkout” is unnecessary as well. Not just on the product page but the cart too. In fact, the Shop express checkout really is unnecessary here.
Footer needs your business information. You also need an about page so people know who you are and why you’re doing this. Looks like ai images at the bottom. You want real photos.
Hello,
A couple of small things:
Regrds,
Shawn
Hi, thank you for the feedback.
I also wasn’t sure about the timing of the popup newsletter but I’ll work on fixing it.
I didn’t know that “shipping will be calculated at check out” can be removed!!
Real images and “About Us” will be added today too.
Thank you so much. This is work in progress and I appreciate your recommendations.
Hi,
Thanks a-lot for your feedback!
I totally agree on the videos size as I tried to make them smaller but I didn’t figure it out! Any tips on how to do it?
Good catch on the email! THANKS! I’ll fix it!
Thank you so much!
I appreciate your help!
Hi,
I will first start by saying I am by no means a Shopify Dev Expert. I am guessing if you are using their standardized templates, there might be a way to adjust the size.
I did take a look at your source code, I have to say, I am really surprised at how much Shopify adds.
It wasn’t until line 1475 that I finally found your first video! I did notice that there was a ratio percentage of 177.77% . I also saw line 1505: width=“3840” height=“6827” sizes="(min-width: 1000px) 900px, (min-width: 750px)
Maybe others can let you know if there is a templated way to adjust the video size vs manually updating the code?
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
Regards.
The product idea is really cool and I can tell there’s genuine thought behind it. A couple of things I noticed that the others haven’t mentioned yet.
The fact that this was designed by a Pediatric Occupational Therapist is probably your single strongest selling point, but right now it’s sitting in small text under the hero video. Parents buying anything for their baby will trust that credential more than almost anything else on the page. I’d make it way more visible, maybe a dedicated section with the therapist’s name and a short quote about why they designed it. That alone could change how people feel about the product.
I also noticed the star rating near the product card shows empty stars, but you actually have 10 verified reviews further down the page at 5.00. Looks like the review widget near the buy button isn’t pulling from the same source. That’s a big miss because someone who scrolls just to the product section sees “no reviews” and might bounce before they ever reach the real ones at the bottom.
One more thing, for baby products specifically, parents almost always look for age range and safety certifications before buying. You mention “Safety Tested Materials” in the features section but don’t specify which standards or what age range it’s designed for. Even a simple FAQ section covering that would help a lot with trust.
Are you selling primarily through social media right now or driving traffic from somewhere else? Curious because the TikTok content you have embedded is really good and that could be a strong channel for this kind of product.
Simple and nice one.
Just move star reviews below description on homepage to under product title.
Add more information in Contact us page
Hi there!
Thank you so much for your feedback.
I’ll take all of that into consideration. However, I don’t see the empty stars you’re talking about. Would you mind taking a screenshot to show me?
Thank you again!! I truly appreciate your support.
Hi.
Do you mean I put the star reviews at the very top?
I’m working on “About Us” and FAQ pages too!
Thank you so much!! Appreciate it!
Hey! Just checked your store again and it looks like the stars issue might have been fixed on your end already. They’re showing up correctly now with 8 reviews right under the product title, which is exactly where they should be.
Also noticed you added the “Founded by a Pediatric Occupational Therapist” section on the homepage. That’s a really smart move. It immediately tells parents there’s real expertise behind this product, not just another generic baby accessory.
How’s traffic been going since launch? Curious if the TikTok content is bringing people in.
Hi @ssteps
I got a notification - probably from @lumine new post, so I went back to the site.
The updated flow is a lot nicer. More compact and easier to navigate. Shrinking the videos was a nice touch.
One update you might want to consider - In your shipping policy page - consider adding your ship from address. (you have a FL address in your privacy policy). Having the ship from address helps people better understand how long it will take. I am in Ca, so I would expect to be on the longer end of the estimate - and I set an appropriate expectation. Also, adding a physical location helps build trust with buyers. If you want to minimize the use of the address throughout the site, then you might want to just include a note that says - Items shipped from FL.
Regards.
(unrelated - finally got the ability to edit my own posts, and very happy!)
Yeah, I went through your store and honestly, you’re not far off — it just feels like it’s missing that “reason to trust and buy right now.”
Right now the biggest gap isn’t effort, it’s clarity + trust.
The first few seconds on your homepage should answer 3 things instantly:
What exactly are you selling
Why it’s different
Why I should trust you
At the moment, it leans more toward “aesthetic” than “conversion.” That’s a super common early-stage mistake.
A couple of things I’d fix first (these will make the biggest impact):
1. Hero section
The current vibe looks nice, but it doesn’t sell the product. Replace it with something real — close-up product shots or someone actually wearing/using it. People don’t buy concepts, they buy outcomes.
2. Trust signals (this is a big one)
Right now there’s not enough to make a new visitor feel safe buying. Even small things help:
Clear shipping + return info
About page with a real story
Social proof (even a few reviews or UGC)
Most new stores struggle here — and that’s usually why traffic doesn’t convert
3. Product pages
Descriptions feel a bit generic. Instead of just describing the product, answer:
Why should I pick this over others?
What problem does it solve?
What will I feel/use it for?
4. Give people a reason to act
Right now there’s no urgency or incentive. Even something simple like:
First order discount
Free shipping threshold
can make a big difference.
One honest point — your store currently feels more like a well-designed template than a brand. That’s not a bad thing (everyone starts there), but adding personality and real-world proof is what flips it into something people actually buy from.
You’ve got a solid base already, it just needs stronger messaging + trust layers on top.
