I don't know how to make friends anymore

hi my name is rochelin guilermin, it’s really stupid of me but i don’t know how to make friends anymore. i feel really alone with my computer and my phone i spend most of the time on the internet. i really don’t know who to talk to.

I’ve been learning shopify theme development for a while now and I’m really lonely because I can’t find anyone to talk to about it. I’ve become like a phantom on this earth and I don’t really know anyone.

I made this message with an open heart because I would like to exchange with new people and make friends and also share hobbies. Thank you very much.

Hi Rochelin,

It sounds like you are feeling very lonely. It’s hard to make friends as an adult, so I can understand why you might feel this way.

There are active communities around Shopify development and e-commerce on Twitter, LinkedIn, Slack, Reddit, and more. That can help you find people with common interests. It sounds like you’re in France, and I know for sure there are many French people in the Shopify world, so maybe you can connect with them offline as well as online.

Lastly, I recommend therapy if you can access it and putting yourself out there by attending meetups related to your interests.

Best,

Tobe

For platform connections see the partner dashboard > support > slack channel link.

But that is still digitally spiraling around someone else’s platform.

That is not life , external visceral sources of connection must be pursued they cannot be supplanted with silicon.

Go to the store get a newspaper check local events and just go to one doesn’t matter what is pick randomly if need be just start going.

I’ve looked at its communities but they’re almost dead, very few people. even on reddit. i’d like to find people with whom we can chat, if possible on the shopify code side, that would be even bigger. i thought i could find friends on the shopificiel forum who share the same goal as me, which is to create shopify stores, customize them and fix bugs.

events are very rare and sometimes very far from where I am.
