I have a marketing campaign running for my App and never had issues until this week.
When searching in the App Store using common keywords I no longer see Ads. I always saw Ads being displayed in the first row of the search results, but not now. I do not see Ads at all and I am wondering if something changed for the marketing Ads policy or what?
Your question is a great one, there can be a couple of reasons as to why you’re not seeing your ads when you search them, have a look below:
Are you searching for the ads via desktop or mobile? As currently we are only focusing on desktop.
If you have already installed the apps in question, then you won’t see the ads for them. Once you uninstall the apps, you will be eligible to see the ads again.
Using a VPN will block you from seeing ads and if you searched them repeatedly within a short period of time, then you might not see the ads temporarily as the system may have flagged you as a potential bot.
Just jumping on this thread to help Maz out with some replies today.
On top of the potential reasons Maz has outlined in their earlier reply, I thought I’d get you to double check a few other things on your end:
Make sure that the ad is Running and not set to another status that will prevent the ad from appearing.
If you’ve just created your ad, there might be a slight delay before the ad appears. You can wait around 15 minutes, then check the app store by searching a keyword you’re targeting.
If there are already 3 ads showing for a keyword you’re targeting, it’s possible that your bid is too low for that keyword. Or, it might be that the relevance of the keyword vs your app is not high enough.
You can also check to see if any of your negative keywords are preventing the ad from running for the keyword in question.

If a user or ip is flagged for repeated searches within a short period of time and temporarily unable to see ads, how long does this last, and does it automatically get removed or does someone at Shopify manually have to remove the block?
