I have 100 sessions a day but not 1 added to cart

Hey everyone,

I launched my website vintagevendor.de about two weeks ago and just started my first marketing campaign on TikTok yesterday. I’m getting around 100–130 visitors per day from the ads with a €30 budget, but no one is adding anything to the cart, which is really frustrating.

I’ve tested everything on the website — checkout works, links work, it doesn’t look like a scammy site, and overall everything seems functional.

Here are my thoughts so far:

  1. TikTok might need more time to optimize my audience.

Maybe it’s just too early to see results and I need to give the algorithm time to learn. I paused the ads today so I don’t keep spending without understanding what’s wrong.

  1. It could be the product photos or the product itself.

Although this is hard to believe — I launched a 70% off sale yesterday, and I used all of my product images in the ads. So I would’ve expected at least some engagement or adds to cart.

What do you think is going wrong here?

Any feedback would be super appreciated!

Hi @vintagevendor

Welcome to the community. First tip is to search the community for “no sales”, those topics repeat all the time and and some advice also. And there is a lot of good advice that you can find and apply to your store.

Now to some specifics, 70% sale for me does look scammy :slightly_smiling_face: I know people love sales but everything above 40% , for me sounds scetchy.

For images, yes, even though they are unique, think you could improve them. like set them up so there are no wrinkles. I googled and first video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKYU6ynntzM have some good tips.

And be patient, you have a good niche, maybe for each jersey you sell, add a small story of the game where those were used. So people know it is piece of history.

Good luck an dI hope sales will come.

Hey congrats on launching, I know that first phase can feel really confusing when you’re doing everything right but nothing’s converting.

I had the same thing when I started running ads on m social media pages at random. I got visitors but no adds to cart, and it made me wonder if people just didn’t trust the site or thought it wasn’t ready.

Something that helped me was asking myself, “Would I actually buy from my own store if I saw it for the first time?”
That’s when I realized I was missing stuff like customer interest builder, a magnet page, and all those small things that make the site feel safe.

A lady I worked with helped me fix my layout, add legal pages, connect my Google identification batch to Google, and explain how to make my TT traffic actually stay with the right TT marketing. She really opened my eyes with how TT works for real sales.

Hope that helps a bit. You’ve got nice stuff, it just needs that final trust boost.
Need any idea, please feel free to reply!

Hi! First of all, congrats on your new store.

Several feedback points:

  1. Do check the aesthetics of your store. Your website is neat and clean, but I recommend adding some more design elements that will improve your store’s appeal. For example, I felt that the offers that you are trying to highlight in the header of your website could have been more specific and engaging.

Instead of ‘Massive jersey sale today only,’ you could have written something like “15% off your favorite sports jerseys.”

As a pro tip, I would recommend checking out Shopify’s blog on ‘best Shopify stores’ and ‘best product pages.’ Surely it will provide you with many inspiring ideas for your store.

  1. Apart from that, along with paid marketing, try to invest your efforts in SEO as well. That doesn’t require an upfront investment and can help you improve your store’s traffic and sales.

A good starting point will be to research high-volume, low-difficulty keywords, around which you can create blogs and boost your topical authority. Moreover, keywords that have a transactional intent can also be used on your product pages.

  1. Lastly, as you mentioned, you are running ads on TikTok and getting much traction, I suggest you wait for some time. Learn from other resources online on how to set up your campaigns for better results.

Also, in place of TikTok ads, I would say try running Google ads (especially Shopping campaigns). That is often a more prominent advertising platform for e-commerce merchants.

Good luck.

Hey there welcome to the Shopify community @vintagevendor For starters, getting traction is the first step to success in e-commerce so you are already on the right track. In terms of the Tik Tok ads optimization, I also think you do need some more time for it to be properly optimized and to assess it fully. If for a while, there are no major changes I’d suggest you re-strategize and maybe try out the Instagram ads.
For more specific tailored advice, I’d recommend you share your store URL link whenever you feel open enough to do that!

Hi,
Your website is not beautiful, which makes me lose the desire and trust to buy.

Getting 100-130 visitors daily with zero cart additions suggests a fundamental mismatch between your TikTok creative and your target audience’s buying intent. Even with a 70% discount, no engagement indicates the wrong people are clicking your ads.

TikTok’s algorithm needs purchase data to optimize, but it’s currently learning from clicks that don’t convert. This creates a negative feedback loop where the platform finds more non-buyers instead of actual customers.

The issue isn’t your website functionality - it’s audience alignment. Here’s how to fix it:

  • Pause broad targeting and focus on very specific vintage enthusiast segments
  • Create content that demonstrates styling vintage pieces rather than just showcasing products
  • Use trending sounds and formats that vintage fashion audiences actually engage with
  • Test different hooks that address specific problems vintage buyers face

TikTok-specific optimization:

  • Make your first 3 seconds instantly recognizable to vintage fashion lovers
  • Show transformation content - before/after styling videos work well for fashion
  • Use authentic user-generated content rather than polished product shots
  • Include price anchoring to justify premium vintage pricing

The real breakthrough comes from understanding who actually buys vintage clothing online. These customers have specific motivations, shopping behaviors, and price sensitivities that differ dramatically from general fashion shoppers.

Your discount strategy might actually be working against you. High discounts attract bargain hunters who rarely convert to repeat customers. Vintage buyers often prefer authenticity and quality over low prices.

Lumino helps by analyzing successful vintage fashion businesses to identify the customer segments that actually drive profits. You can then create TikTok campaigns specifically targeting these high-value segments instead of hoping broad audiences convert.

Having your personal business intelligence consultant guide your TikTok strategy transforms random content creation into precision targeting that actually drives sales.

Hi Vintagevendor,

You’ve got a great product and niche store here; the initial lack of conversions should not dishearten you. With some tweaks to your strategy, you can attract consistent high traffic and convert it more.

To start, I recommend focusing on the content marketing aspect of your business. Sports fanatics, particularly football fans, enjoy reading and learning about their sporting heroes, the events, and the stadiums. Think of a blogging strategy that consistently churns out content on these topics. This way, you keep your visitors engaged and can consistently attract more traffic with interesting pieces on football stars.

With that locked in, you also need to provide customers a memorable experience on the site and build trust with them. Consider installing ParcelPanel to help you provide customized expected delivery dates (EDD) to each customer depending on their location. As opposed to generalized timelines, specific EDDs help customer accurately estimate when they will receive their orders. Displaying this information at checkout gives them more confidence to buy, and that way, you can boost your conversions.

Try ParcelPanel today for 40% off your first month and let me know how it goes.

Hi, @vintagevendor

Getting 100 - 130 visitors/day from TikTok and zero add-to-carts is actually a pretty strong signal , this usually means users are landing, but deciding within a few seconds that it’s not for them.

Here’s what I’d focus on:

Ad promise is not landing cleanly on the page

TikTok traffic is very “instant decision” driven, so if users don’t immediately see what they clicked for, they tend to bounce. The first screen should clearly show the product image (same as the ad), the 70% off price, and a simple one-line benefit so the offer is understood instantly without needing to scroll.

Trust gap for cold TikTok traffic

Even if the site looks legit, new users from ads usually don’t trust a brand by default.Near the Add to Cart section, make sure you clearly show delivery time, a simple returns/refund line, and a few real reviews or social proof to quickly build confidence and reduce hesitation.

Speed

Site speed is also worth checking. Since most TikTok traffic is mobile, even slight delays in loading or heavy sections above the fold can reduce engagement before users even reach the product details.

Offer presentation improvement

70% off alone isn’t enough without context for cold TikTok traffic. Show a clear “was vs now” price, briefly highlight what’s included in the order so users immediately understand the value, and if possible add simple urgency like “limited time” or “limited stock” to encourage faster decisions.

At this stage, I’d focus less on ads and more on improving how quickly users understand and trust the offer when they land.

For performance improvements, you can also optionally use Website Speedy to help optimize images and scripts for faster loading.
Disclaimer: I’m affiliated with Website Speedy.

100–130 visitors with zero add-to-carts usually suggests a traffic or trust issue rather than a checkout problem.

A few things I’d check:

  • TikTok may be bringing curious visitors, not buyers.
  • A 70% discount on a new store can sometimes reduce trust.
  • Visitors may not see enough reviews, shipping info, or other trust signals.
  • Product pages may need stronger photos, descriptions, or clearer value.

I wouldn’t judge the campaign after just one day. Install Microsoft Clarity or Hotjar and watch visitor sessions to see where people are dropping off. That will tell you much more than clicks alone.

Continuing the discussion from I have 100 sessions a day but not 1 added to cart:

"Hi vintagevendor,
I read your post about your TikTok ads driving 100-130 daily visitors but getting zero add-to-carts, even with a 70% off sale. I completely understand how frustrating that can be.
I tried to visit your store to check the layout, but it seems vintagevendor.de is currently showing a ‘blocked/suspended’ status. Don’t worry or lose hope! Facing domain issues on top of zero conversions is extremely stressful, but it can be fixed.
Usually, when ads bring traffic but no one adds to cart, the problem is the landing page copy. TikTok traffic is impulsive; they need catchy product titles and high-converting, benefit-driven descriptions (with clear bullet points) to build immediate trust and desire.
I am an e-commerce copywriter. Once your store is accessible again, I would love to help you optimize your product descriptions for just $2 to $3 per product so you don’t waste your ad budget.
Check your inbox as well, I am sending you a direct message so we can stay connected. Hang in there!"

HI @vintagevendor .

Hope you are doing great .

You can check mobile experience, landing page match, and trust signals ( review, return policy ), also give s the TikTok algorithm at least 5 to 7 days to optimize before judging results.
