I have already payed and made an account under my name and it asked for id and I put my age and said I can’t be in Shopify because I’m 16 but I’ve payed and used my account so is there a way around this like buying my own domain or can I get my payments paused until I’m 18?

Hello @AngusRiley
Shopify’s terms require the store owner to be at least 18, so unfortunately there isn’t a “minor pause” or workaround like buying a domain solo and hiding the rest. Here’s what you can do:
- Shift Ownership to a Parent or Guardian
Have a trusted adult (parent, guardian) create their own Shopify account, pick a plan under their name, and then you invite them as the Store Owner. You can continue running the day-to-day business, but the billing and legal ownership stay with someone over 18. - Transfer Domain Separately
You can still buy or transfer your custom domain into Shopify under that adult’s account. Domains aren’t tied to age, but the store behind them still needs an 18+ owner. - Pause or Close the Store
If you’d rather wait until you turn 18, you can downgrade or close the store so you stop incurring subscription fees. When you’re ready, simply reopen or start a new store—even keeping the same domain if you’ve secured it.
Once you hit 18, you can transfer primary ownership back to yourself in Settings → Users and permissions
If you let me know the process to pausing the store and that that I would
greatly appreciate it. Thank you
