I have an zip file of my theme. wanna upload this theme to another store of shopyfy

I’d avoid changing the code right away, especially since we don’t yet know what’s causing the 404.

Could you first check:

  • Does the 404 happen for every product or only some products?
  • Did you install the same version of the Kalles theme on both stores?
  • Have you contacted The4 support to confirm whether any additional migration steps are required after importing the theme ZIP?

Once we identify the exact cause, it’ll be much easier to know whether any code changes are actually needed.

The 404 error happens because your theme was copied, but your products weren’t. Here’s how to set it up properly.

Step 1: Upload your theme

  • Go to Online Store → Themes.

  • Click Add theme → Upload ZIP file.

  • Upload your theme.

Step 2: Add products to the new store

If the new store has no products, the Theme Editor can’t preview a product page.

Go to:
Products → Add product

Create at least one product with:

  • Title

  • Price

  • Product image

Save it.

If you’re moving from another Shopify store, you can export your products:

  • Old store: Products → Export

  • New store: Products → Import and upload the CSV.

Step 3: Create collections (if needed)

If your homepage shows featured collections:

  • Go to Products → Collections.

  • Create the same collections as your old store.

  • Add products to them.

Step 4: Fix navigation

Go to:
Content → Menus (or Online Store → Navigation, depending on your admin).

Recreate your:

  • Main menu

  • Footer menu

Step 5: Open the Theme Editor

Go to:
Online Store → Themes → Customize

At the top, change the preview from Home page to Products, then select one of the products you created.

The 404 error should disappear.

If you’re still getting a 404

Please tell me:

  1. Is the old store still active?

  2. Does the new store have any products?

  3. Is it a free Shopify theme or a premium theme?

  4. Share a screenshot of the 404 page.

I can then tell you exactly what’s causing the issue.

Doesn’t look closed to me… This is live. This isn’t shut down or closed at all. You’re trying to use the same theme on two stores. Not good.

Yes

Yes

Yes i have tried they said you have to edit theme from starting point

In that case, it sounds like the issue isn’t with Shopify itself but with how the Kalles theme needs to be configured on a new store.

If the theme developer has confirmed that it needs to be set up from scratch, I’d recommend following their guidance, as they’ll know the theme’s architecture best. If you get stuck on a specific step during the setup, feel free to share the exact error or screenshot, and the community can help troubleshoot that particular issue.

How can i make my theme kalles edit fast again like my previous theme

If the Kalles support team has already confirmed that the theme needs to be configured from scratch on the new store, there’s unfortunately no quick way to make it behave exactly like your previous setup. The easiest approach is to recreate the theme settings step by step and customize it for the new store. If there’s a specific part that’s difficult to edit or configure, let us know which section it is, and the community can help with that.

What the ZIP brings, and what it does not

  • Comes across: the theme code, templates, sections, and theme settings.
  • Does not come across: products, collections, pages, menus, and every image you uploaded (logo, banners, section images).

So the theme is now pointing at things that only exist in your old store, and those slots come across empty.

1. Upload the theme

  • Online Store, Themes, Import, Upload zip file, and pick your .zip.

2. Get the product page to show

  • A blank or 404 in Customize means preview with no product selected.
  • Open Customize, and at the top switch the preview from Home page to Products, then pick a real product.
  • If you dont have any products, add one under Products, Add product, or bring them over with Products, Export on the old store and Products, Import on the new one.
  • Make sure each product is set to the Online Store sales channel.

3. Put back what did not travel

  • Re-upload your logo, banners, and section images, then reopen each section in Customize and re-select them.
  • Reassign any Featured product or Featured collection blocks to items that exist in the new store.
  • Rebuild your menus under Content, Menus.

About Kalles

  • a single-use license
  • ask the theme makers (The4) to transfer the license or buy a new one. They might then hand you a fresh copy plus your saved settings, which is faster and far less broken than fixing a ZIP move by hand.
  • That is why their support said to set it up fresh
  • If the product page is still blank after adding a product, even on the live store, the product template needs Kalles’s own setup, and the fresh licensed copy restores it.
