I am trying to open my own store front after being on Etsy for 16 years. I really need help with the design and making shop sections and setting up shipping also linking to instagram - just getting the shop set up to look like a real shop and learning how to manage it from there. I have imported everything into the new store but it’s a mess and I’m running in circles.
This is a labor of love and I’d be paying out of pocket for your work . I’m not a capitalist, i am an artist and someone who loves vintage and wants to be free from Etsy.
If you are also starting out and need clients and can help me I’d really be grateful. I understand labor should be compensated so I’m
Not trying to get a bargain but some of these places are advertising like 5k and are working with seriously big shops- it’s intimidating!
That’s such a beautiful goal — and congratulations on taking the leap after so many years on Etsy! I totally understand how confusing it can feel at first; Shopify has a lot of moving parts, but once things start clicking, it becomes much easier to manage.
You’ve already done the hardest part by importing your products. I’d suggest tackling one step at a time — start with organizing your collections, then move on to theme layout and shipping setup. Also, under Sales Channels, you can easily link your Instagram so people can shop directly from your posts.
It’s really inspiring that you’re doing this out of love for your craft and freedom from Etsy. You’ve got this — one small win at a time!

First off, congratulations on taking the step to move off Etsy and start your own shop - that’s a huge and inspiring move!
Here are a few suggestions and next steps you can take:
Structure & Navigation:
Start by organizing your products into clear collections (like “Vintage Dresses,” “Accessories,” etc.). This helps your customers find what they want easily.
Theme & Design:
Choose a Shopify theme that fits your style — for vintage or artistic stores, “Dawn,” “Studio,” or “Craft” themes are great starting points. You can customize colors, fonts, and banners to reflect your brand’s personality.
Shipping Setup:
Shopify lets you create shipping profiles with different rates. You can set flat rates, weight-based, or region-based options — perfect for vintage items that vary in size and weight.
Instagram Integration:
Connect your Instagram under Sales Channels → Instagram so you can tag products directly in posts or stories.
