im starting to make my website and i had 12 products in one collection and now i added 2 more products but in a different collection and when i go to my catalog all products are there
when i click the drop icon in the middle and check products it says default and all 14 products are assigned there by default and same with all the collections
tried everything but don’t know what else to try or do

It sounds like your catalog is showing all products because Shopify automatically assigns new products to the “default” collection if no specific rules are set. To control which products appear where, make sure each collection has its own conditions (manual or automated). If you’re using automated collections, edit the conditions to include only specific tags, titles, or product types. If you’re using manual collections, make sure to manually add or remove products. Also, note that the “All Products” page (usually your main catalog) includes every active product by default unless you create a custom collection to replace it.

From your description, it seems like you would like not to put newly added products in the default collection page together. If so, you can create new Collection pages and add them accordingly from Shopify admin pages. This may be helpful.
