I need to be able to send emails through shopify from two different email addresses

This seems simple enough but I’m having issues finding a way to send emails through marketing from different email addresses.

I have a brick and mortar that needs to send emails through shopify because it includes links to the products in the store. I could use MailChimp, but I’d rather not since our POS and online store are all shopify.

But I also need to send emails to emails to customers from my 15-year-old online shop that has a different name.

The issue is that the brick-and-mortar emails are being flagged as they are not recognized by customers as my shop.

Is there a way to have two email addresses for one shopify account? Seems like most shops have emails a few different email addresses.

Thanks in advance!

Hey @Brad_McGinty,

Shopify Email only allows one “From” email address per store. This is because it’s tied to your store’s primary domain and email settings for deliverability and authentication (SPF/DKIM). You can’t dynamically switch sender identities for different campaigns within the same Shopify store’s email interface.

To manage two distinct brand identities and sender email addresses for marketing, even if they draw from the same customer base or product catalog, you’ll need to use a dedicated third-party email marketing platform. Tools like Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or Omnisend are designed for this. They integrate with Shopify to pull customer data, order history, and product details, but allow you to set up multiple sender profiles, manage different brand templates, and segment your audiences for each distinct brand’s communications.

While your POS and online store being Shopify is convenient, the built-in Shopify Email is fairly basic. For the kind of multi-brand email segmentation and sender management you’re looking for, a specialized email platform is the standard solution and will prevent your emails from being flagged. You’d essentially connect your Shopify store to, say, Klaviyo, and then create different email campaigns/flows within Klaviyo, each with its appropriate “From” name and email address.

P.S. I’m building a gamified discount app called Game Gophers. I’m giving the first 10 early adopters a free permanent license, let me know if you’re interested.

Shopify only supports one outbound sender by default, so you can’t natively switch addresses. Most stores solve this by routing Shopify notifications through a helpdesk or email app like Gorgias or Zendesk, or by using Gmail or Outlook for anything that needs a different sender. For transactional emails, a third party SMTP or email app is usually the cleanest workaround.

Hello @Brad_McGinty ,

I hope you are doing well!

What you’re trying to do makes complete sense — you essentially have two brands under one Shopify ecosystem, and each needs its own identity and sender reputation.

Shopify Email is quite limited when it comes to managing multiple sender identities cleanly. That’s where AiTrillion can help.

With AiTrillion, you can:

• Set up multiple verified sender email addresses (for example:
store@brickandmortar.com
shop@onlinebrand.com)

• Authenticate both domains properly DKIM, which helps reduce emails being flagged or marked as unfamiliar.

• Segment your customers clearly — so brick-and-mortar customers only receive emails from the retail brand sender, and online-brand customers receive emails from that brand’s identity.

You would essentially create two customer segments:
– POS / in-store customers
– Online brand customers

Then build separate campaigns and automation flows for each, assigning the correct sender profile to each campaign.

This helps in three important ways:

First, brand recognition improves because customers see the name they expect.
Second, deliverability improves when each domain builds its own sender reputation.

Third, you avoid confusing subscribers with mixed branding.

If both businesses operate under one Shopify store, AiTrillion lets you separate marketing logic without needing two separate Shopify accounts.

If they are two separate Shopify stores, AiTrillion can still manage them independently/together while keeping reporting structured.

In your case, since emails are being flagged because customers don’t recognize the sender, improving sender identity + domain authentication will likely solve a large part of the issue — and AiTrillion gives you more control over that setup than Shopify Email alone.

You can use multiple sender email addresses in Shopify, but each one needs to be properly authenticated (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) to avoid being flagged.

If your brick-and-mortar and online store have different branding, it’s important that:
• The sender name matches the brand customers recognize
• The domain is authenticated
• The email content reflects that specific store identity

Many stores solve this by setting up separate sender profiles while keeping operations under one Shopify account.

Are both brands using separate domains?
