I need to talk to a live person at shopify

Topic summary

Multiple merchants express severe frustration with Shopify’s customer support accessibility, reporting inability to reach live representatives despite urgent issues.

Primary Complaints:

  • No direct phone contact available; users forced through chatbot systems that loop without connecting to human agents
  • “I still need help” button often fails to escalate to live support
  • Support representatives repeatedly ask users to re-explain issues despite existing ticket numbers

Specific Unresolved Issues:

  • JEJURI1 reports orders appearing 6-8 hours late in admin panel since February 27th (2+ months unresolved)
  • Mackpeyton20 unable to access $25,000+ in sales due to failed payouts; bank account linking problems
  • Multiple reports of unauthorized charges continuing after account cancellation
  • DNS/email verification preventing account access
  • Shipsurance claim dispute ($1,900) with no resolution path

Shopify Staff Response:
Greta_3 and other staff repeatedly direct users to the Help Center, recommending cache clearing and incognito browsing. They explain Shopify prioritizes chat/async channels over phone support for “visibility” and “capacity” reasons.

Status: Discussion remains open with ongoing complaints. Multiple merchants threaten to leave platform. No satisfactory resolutions documented in thread.

Hi there, @cdmjewelry !

I’m sorry to hear you’re having difficulty getting in touch with us. We’re available 24/7 via live chat, email, and callback through the Help Center. When it comes to reaching out to our live Support line, I’ll provide some steps here to make it easier:

  1. Head over to this link: Contact Shopify Support ¡ Shopify Help Center
  2. Log in (recommended) or Continue without logging in
  3. Select the support topic that best suits your inquiry (such as Account or Store settings)
  4. Scroll down to where it says Get support and select one of the available support options

You’ll then be connected with a Support Advisor who can answer your questions and review your account with you. If you follow the above steps and don’t see the support options (live chat, email, etc.), I recommend clearing your cache and cookies and/or using an incognito window to access the Help Center.

You can also always post here in the Community Forums to receive advice from Shopify partners, staff, and fellow merchants.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

I’m having the same problem.

This is the worst. Even their help center doesn’t show you or let you create a support ticket.

Hi, @1415productions !

Thanks for reaching out. Our Help Center has been updated since my last reply in this thread, and there are different steps for creating a support ticket.

You can now head over to the new Help Center, enter the details of your question into the chat assistant, and click I still need help to be connected with a Support Advisor. Once you’re connected the advisor can read over your conversation and work on resolving your issue.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

It’s baffling really I’ve spent over 30 minutes trying to talk or chat with someone on Shopify but it’s looking hopeless. The bot is almost useless, if you click ‘I still need help’ it just repeats the same thing which is really annoying.

Hi, @Benergy !

Thanks for jumping in, and I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble getting in touch.

What you’re describing definitely isn’t the experience we want our merchants to have. I recommend trying some local troubleshooting such as clearing your cache and cookies and/or using an incognito window, and accessing the Help Center again. Ensure that you’re entering the details of your issue into the chat assistant and then clicking I still need help. Alternatively, you can enter the details of your issue, and send another message requesting to be connected with support.

Please let me know how that goes, and if you have any other questions!

Why, not just “pick up the damn” phone. And drop the, dodging customers all the time?

Hi, @Necxium .

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Merchant experience has been & continues to be our first priority — we’re always looking at our service offering to ensure it continues to meet the needs of all merchants. At this point in time, we’re prioritizing live chat and async channels due to the visibility they give us into your journey with Shopify to date, and the ease that we can then connect you with other resources and teams as needed. Additionally, we’ve implemented the new Help Center to assist more merchants in less time, in a way that we can’t with phone support due to capacity.

Thank you again for sharing your thoughts, and we’re open to any other feedback you may have.

This is nothing but gaslighting. It is not possible to reach a live person at SHopify. They take your money but then you are all alone. Absolutely worst customer service EVER

Help! I’ve spent hours trying to figure out how to contact a real person at Shopify. I cancelled an account I had yet Shopify took it upon themselves to continue charging me not once a month but twice for $105 and $39 per month. It’s insane that you can steal my money. I’ve filed fraud charges with my credit card company. Please, contact me and please give me my money back!!! I don’t have an active Shopify store.

Hi, @SpaGirl . Shopify only charges active stores. If you are seeing unknown charges I recommend reviewing this guide on unknown charges from Shopify to determine where the charges are coming from. Typically this happens when a store has not been fully closed, or when merchants have accidentally opened additional stores. If you still need more help, you can contact our support team through the Help Center here. When you visit this page you’ll need to type your issue or question to the Help Center assistant so it can direct you to the resources and team you need for more help. If it asks you to log in, please tell the Help Center assistant that you can’t log in and it will present you with options to contact support. This option will likely say Account Support. If you’re not seeing that option, you should see an I still need help button at the bottom of the chat box that you can click to get more help.

Same here, every time shopify advisors are just coming and asking us to explain the whole issue again and dont even read the tickets properly, there is no help available, they are very late to respond, i have an issue going since 27th february that my all orders are showing up late in my system and shopify tecnical team is least bothered to resolve teh issue.Tired of chatting daily with shopify advisors

Dear Greta, this is false statments that you are giving here, last 27th february onwards my shopify store BONYHUB is receiving the orders late in my admin panel after 6 to 8 hours time gap and shopify adviors are so unaware and not experianced as they ask me teh whole issue again even after providing the ticket numbers they are not bothered to read teh problem and resolve it or escalate it.
