I purchased a domain and got an error message. Money is deducted from my account but my domain name has not changed. it is still the @MyShopify domain

The .myshopify domain is for store owner to access the admin page. You will have a different domain for your website. Please open the domain that you just purchased and it should direct you to the Shopify website you created.
Its not working and surprisingly its still available under the domains that
are for sale

Can you describe the error message you saw? We will want to make sure that the domain was added to your account if your card was deducted funds!
That being said, your admin will always state the .myshopify.com URL, and your store will also display this until you manually go in and change the primary domain. Due to merchants having multiple domains at times, we do not automatically change the domain as this could cause errors in a lot of situations.
To change your Primary Domain please follow the steps below:

From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Domains.

Click the domain that you want to make the primary domain.

Click Set as primary.
If you are not seeing your domain listed under the domains section due to the error you previous experienced, you will need to reach out to our live support team. They will be able to pull up the domain and transaction to ensure everything is ok. To ensure account security our community team members cannot access specific accounts.
Please visit our Help Center and log in to your account to create a support request through live chat, email, or callback. Once you have logged in to your account, type your request in βAsk about a topicβ, scroll down to βGet Supportβ, and then click βContinue.β

Unfortunately, no images was attached to your last response so I am not sure what you see. However, the steps are as follows:
- Visit our Help Center and log in to your account to create a support request.
- Once you have logged in to your account, type your request in βAsk about a topicβ and hit βEnterβ
- Next, Scroll down to βGet Supportβ, and then click βContinue.β
- You will then see the available support options
