I received an order. Now, how to ship the product with DHL express? and how can I find the tracking number?
Topic summary
A merchant received an order and needs guidance on shipping via DHL Express and obtaining tracking numbers.
Two main approaches suggested:
-
Integrate DHL Business Account with Shopify - Use a multi-carrier shipping app to print labels and generate tracking numbers directly in the Shopify dashboard. Supports both DHL Express and DHL Paket.
-
Use Shopify Shipping - Available for US-based shipments if no DHL Business Account exists.
Workflow for DHL Express:
- Connect DHL Express through Shopify Shipping or third-party apps
- Navigate to Orders → select order → Create Shipping Label → choose DHL Express
- Enter package details and purchase label
- Tracking number auto-generates and attaches to order
Manual tracking option: If shipping directly through DHL without integration, manually add tracking via order page → More actions → Edit tracking.
Additional tool: ParcelPanel Order Tracking app recommended for branded customer tracking experience with real-time DHL updates.
The discussion remains open for follow-up questions.
Hi!
I would recommend integrating your DHL Business Account within Shopify. You can use our Multi-carrier shipping app for Shopify to do so. It supports both DHL Express and DHL Paket, and allows you to fulfil orders by printing shipping labels and creating a tracking number for your orders, right within the Shopify dashboard. If you do not have a DHL Business Account, you can use Shopify Shipping to ship using DHL. This only works for shipments from the US.
If you’re shipping with DHL Express, here’s how to go about it:
-
First, make sure DHL Express is connected to your Shopify store, either through Shopify Shipping (if it’s supported in your region) or via a third-party app like DHL Express Commerce.
-
Once connected, you can go to your Orders > select the order > Create Shipping Label > choose DHL Express. Enter your package details and buy the label. A tracking number will be generated and added to the order automatically.
-
If you’re not using a Shopify-integrated label solution, and you’re working with DHL directly, you can manually enter the tracking number by going to the order > click “More actions” > Edit tracking.
If you want to give your customers a clear branded tracking experience, the ParcelPanel Order Tracking app can also help by pulling in real-time DHL Express updates and displaying them on your store’s tracking page.
Hope this clears things up, let me know if you want links to DHL integration options!
If this helped, feel free to mark it as a solution so others can find it too!
