I transferred a domain name, my store link is broken

Hello.

I transferred my domain from my local domain provider to shopify. I entered the transfer code and repurchased the domain for $15 on shopify.

Domain name whois information: https://tucowsdomains.com/whois-result/

It looks like the domain is on shopify. But customer service is absolutely not helpful in any way. It doesn’t solve the problem in any way. My store is closed and people cannot access the site. I talked to 8 staff. Chat keeps disconnecting. Every time I try to explain my problem to another customer representative;

I have successfully transferred my 1st domain to shopify.
2. shopify is telling me to update my dns records : ok but how can i do that . My domain has already successfully migrated to shopify.
( please see whois information )
3. customer representatives say that there is a problem with A records and I need to change it: It is impossible for me to do this. there is no panel to manage the domain name. Domain switched from local provider to shopify. There is nothing the local provider can do anymore!
My 4th domain is at tucows domains where shopify works. But shopify is ignoring this and is keeping me distracted. I am sending screenshots. My domain is still pending.

PLEASE HELP ME URGENTLY NOW

Hi there,

Hoping to help you out with this. If I understand correctly, you’re having trouble locating where to make changes/edits to your A Record/DNS settings.

Here’s how you can find these settings to make appropriate changes.

Steps outlined below:

Same thing happened to me! I did the transfer from z.com to Shopify, and was reassured by their domain transfer tutorial that the website domain will still function properly during the transfer which may take up to 20 days. However, my domain became inaccessible after I confirmed the email sent by z.com to confirm the transfer of domain to Shopify.

So the natural thing to do is to contact their Shopify Support. I contacted a few and none of them very giving constructive solution. Instead, I feel that they are avoiding the real problem and one of them even talks like he doesn’t understand the problem.

One of them did tell me to use my .myshopify.com domain until the problem has been resolved (estimate 20 days). That means I have to change my domain name on all my social platform, google, FB ads. On top of ruining my branding.

It’s has truly been a horrifying experience for me.

Hi @Joey1919 ,

It’s absolutely correct that it can take up to 20 days to transfer your domain. Your domain continues working during the transfer process, assuming all the correct steps have been taken.

If your domain hasn’t transferred to Shopify after 20 days, then review your Junk or Spam email folders for any notices about the transfer or required actions.
