Then update the website link given on the app store.
It was launched in Feb. And there are plenty of popular apps in the similar category. So competiton is kind of high.
And buy a domain. It costs only $10. and you then you can create multiple subdomain over it in case you are launching multiple apps.
And I see that your website might be on free plan of render. So when i opeened the link, they might have suspended your server space to free up the space for others. And when I opened it for the first time after a long period of possibly no visits, i showed me restarting those containers. So if you want to stay on the free plan, keep pinging on the domain - you can set up cronjob with curl in your computer that will keep the server alive
I am app developer myself. Got some installs and some users. Reviews are hard.
Create contents like on YouTube, and hang out here on the shopify community. Solve their problems. You will get lot of problems merchant complains. And launch your Free, simple, and niche apps over these problems. You will also learn a lot of shopify.
And on the communit forums, I see lots of such posts like try my apps every single day but I never seen merchant replying to these. Just partners solving problems of merchants. Thats all.
You’re absolutely right about the domain and the website. I’ll get a proper domain and update the App Store listing instead of using the Render URL.
The Shopify Community point is really helpful too. Instead of just promoting my apps, I’ll try to spend more time actually helping merchants and understanding the problems they’re facing. I think that’s probably a much better way to find ideas for simple, niche apps.
And yeah, getting the first few users and reviews is definitely harder than building the app . I’ll focus more on solving real problems and creating content around what I’m learning.
Really appreciate you taking the time to share all this. It definitely gives me a better direction.
