I’ve had sales, but my payment balance says zero?

Hi everyone,

I’m a semi-new shopify seller and I just had a quick question about payouts. I received my first two a couple weeks ago but I’ve since had more sales via TikTok but my shopify balance for payouts is showing £0. I’ve looked everywhere to see why the payments aren’t coming through to me but I can’t figure it out.

Does anyone know why this might be? Or how I can contact Shopify directly about it? Many thanks!

@Sabrine_Elouali Hi! This usually happens for one of a few common reasons:

• Your TikTok sales may still be processing or on hold before payout
• Shopify Payments could have a reserve/verification pending on your account
• The payouts may be scheduled to a different payout period
• Orders marked as pending, disputed, or unpaid won’t appear in available balance yet

You can check this under:
Shopify Admin → Settings → Payments → View Payouts

Also check if TikTok Shop payments are being handled directly through TikTok instead of Shopify Payments, as sometimes they payout separately.

To contact Shopify directly:
Shopify Admin → Help → Contact Support (live chat is usually fastest).

Hope this helps!

Hi @Sabrine_Elouali

If the sales came through TikTok Shop or another marketplace integration, the payouts may be handled by TikTok instead of Shopify Payments. Also check:

  • Pending payouts

  • Payment hold/review

  • Payout schedule

  • Incorrect banking details

Go to: Settings → Payments → View payouts

You can also contact Shopify Support directly through:
Help Center → Contact Support

They can check your payout account and tell you exactly why it’s showing £0.

Best regards,

Hi @Sabrine_Elouali,

Seeing a £0 payout balance despite making sales is stressful, but it usually comes down to a few common issues:

Unpaid Fees: Your funds might be automatically offsetting outstanding Shopify invoices, such as app subscriptions or plan fees.

Account Holds: Your store may be temporarily paused for a standard identity verification or a policy review.

Balance Offsets: Recent customer refunds or prorated account credits could be canceling out your current sales.

Bank Issues:The bank account or card you have on file might be invalid, frozen, or failing verification.

System Glitches:There may simply be a temporary technical delay in Shopify’s payout infrastructure.

You can contact Shopify by: Access the Help Center, request a human agent or use live chat

Hope this helps,

Seeing £0 in payouts when you’ve made sales is frustrating, but it’s usually one of these reasons:

Outstanding Shopify fees — Your sales might be going toward unpaid app subscriptions or plan charges.

Account on hold — Shopify may have paused payouts for identity verification or a policy check.

Refunds or credits — Recent refunds could be offsetting your current sales balance.

Bank account issue — The bank details on file might be invalid, expired, or failing verification.

Temporary delay — Sometimes it’s just a processing glitch on Shopify’s end.

What to do: Head to the Shopify Help Center and request a human agent or start a live chat. They can check your specific account in minutes.

Your money is most likely still being processed or held by TikTok Shop instead of Shopify. New sellers sometimes experience payout delays while payments are reviewed. Check both your Shopify payouts section and your TikTok Shop payment dashboard to see where the funds are. Also make sure your orders are completed and your bank details are verified. If nothing appears after a few days, contact Shopify Support through live chat and ask them to check your payout status.

Hi @Sabrine_Elouali
Usually this occurs when the funds are still in “pending” or on a payout schedule, or the TikTok orders are not processing via Shopify Payments. First, go to Finance > Payouts and toggle the Pending and Paid views to see if the balance is still in the process of being paid. And be sure those TikTok sales are synced orders and not processed directly from TikTok Shop payouts, which will not show up in your Shopify balance. Finally, check your payout schedule, and any holds for verification, on the Payments settings page.
