I want to create a new look to my store while my original store in still active.

So I have a current store up and running. Its been there for a few years and I want to change the look and products.

My question is can I build a new version while the original one is still functional. When I am done creating a new look can I publish the new one and the original one go inactive?

If so how do I do that?
