I want to unlink my domain from a store that i can't access?

Hello guru,

i bought a domain name and linked it with a shopify store, now i don’t have access to that store any more, i tried to delete the host record on my namecheap dashboard, and tried to link the domain to a new store, unfortunately i still get this message:

There is 1 error:
A store with that domain name already exists

what can i do to resolve this.

I register a shopify store a week ago. Customized the theme,set up payment & shipping, pick a lot products to sell (this takes a lot hours of work) and I’m impressed & decided to go Basic Plan $29. After I’ve paid then this message showing

“xxxxxxxxxx.myshopify.com is currently unavailable.”

Cal here from Shopify, thanks for reaching out to us. I’d be happy to look into this with you. If you provide me with the domain URL in question I can email the account owner that is on file for the store associated with that domain, and look to get it removed from the store.

I’ve emailed the account owner for the store, as soon as the request is confirmed via email I’ll remove any domains on the old store.

Hey Cal! I also have the same issue with my domain blokesanddames.com I have no access to the Shopify store linked to it. What do I do to unlink it, please?

If you want to share the MyShopify URL of your store with me here, I can email the account owner with more information.

When I email, the account owner for your store will need to provide me with a screenshot of the domain host dashboard displaying both the email address and the domain verifying ownership, similar to this:

Hei @Cal ! Thanks for your response. The domain I would like you to help me unlink is sizworth.com and the Shopify URL is sizeworth.myshopify.com. Please when should I expect the email, and am I to provide you with the screenshot of my domain host dashboard here?

Hey Cal! Hepa replied the message I left for you via email asking why exactly I wanted to unlink my domain and I responded, but I’ve not heard anything from Hepa since then. Can you help follow it up? I already uploaded the screenshot of my domain dashboard to you…what is next?

Thanks! Have you removed the records (both A and CNAME records) that are present in your third party domain host dashboard? If not, could you remove the records, and then try to connect your domain to your new platform?

Hi Cal,

I have linked my domain to shopify but have decided to not use shopify because it is not feasible for me. Now how do i get my domain back so it is not linked to shopify store. I just used the 14 day trial and never went past that. domain is www.watatime.co.za. my email is watatimesa@gmail.com

What is the MyShopify URL for the store that the domain is attached to? I will email the account owner on that account to verify ownership of the domain. You will need to provide me with a screenshot that shows both email address and domain name as per this screenshot via email:

I need the same assistance, I want my domain to not be linked to Shopify and use WordPress instead to have more customization, my domain is spacehippieage.com
