I want to use a landing page as a temporary home page

Topic summary

Goal: Set up a temporary one-page landing experience on a Shopify site (theme: Stiletto) to showcase a fashion backpack and link to a Kickstarter, without product pages or checkout for the next 1–2 months.

Initial issue: Created a new page (home-landing-page) using theme blocks but couldn’t make it the site’s default homepage; preview kept opening the theme’s main home page.

Update/decision: Instead of assigning a separate page as the homepage, will repurpose the theme’s existing home page into a single-page landing: remove external links, checkout, and any product-related elements, and use it to direct visitors to Kickstarter.

Outcome/status: Self-resolved with a practical workaround using the theme’s home page as a temporary landing page. No open questions or additional technical steps noted.

I’m helping a friend’s company get set up. I’m more of a designer and haven’t used Shopify before. I have some technical questions.

1st, we found a theme we like - it’s called Stiletto. For now, the next month or two we don’t need the full functionality of the theme. I don’t need product pages, checkout, etc. I only need a landing page that links to a Kickstarter campaign that they have.

So I created a new page and named it home-landing-page. I’m using the theme’s blocks to create a 1 page landing page that showcases the product. It’s a fashion backpack. I know how to add all the content in and kind of get this page to where I want it but not sure how to make this the default page when you go to the site.

When I click “preview” it takes me to the theme’s main home page. We’ll want that in the future but for now I just want this singular landing page to be the home page.

Thanks

Edit - I think what I’m going to do is just use the home page that the theme came with and make it into a one page landing page. Removing all external links, checkout, etc as there are no products yet.
