We serve a worldwide audience, but our default is English/USA. If we use a permalink to go directly to checkout, will a user be able to view this page in their preferred language and currency? I’m not concerned at this point with translating the product information, but mainly with the automated checkout information (e.g. Contact, Payment, Billing Address, etc.) - everything on the left side of the attached screenshot.
Will this payment information automatically be translated based on the user’s location or preferences? Or do I need to set up dozens of markets/languages or whatever for our users to have this option?
You can definitely test this yourself to confirm, but without any testing, I would assume the checkout would load in whatever your store’s default language is, if the customer used a permalink (and hadn’t previously visited your site).
If the customer has previously been to the site - or if the permalink is linked on the actual site - then it should remember what language they’ve selected when viewing the site (via cookies).
Thanks Beaux - I appreciate your response. I used a VPN service to test the permalink URL, but I only see it in English regardless of what location I test from.
