Is there a way to bulk edit them like in the products bulk editor?
I’ve seen apps and it’s all automated non sense that does not help with the SEO, i need a way where they’re lined up in a table and i can edit them fast on the go, entering alt texts manually for each image is taking 50% of my time, it’s insane.

You are able to configure your product export to only include the fields you would need and filter by a number of different product fields if you do not want to export your entire catalog. The Matrixify documentation is great for understanding the app. I would really recommend reading the import documentation as well prior to importing your products to understand the different commands that are available.

From your other comment, it sounds like you’re dealing with a large import/export, which Shopify’s built-in tools don’t handle well. Altera might be worth a look, it’s an import/export app that doesn’t charge by the number of rows, so it could save you a lot of money over time.
In a similar situation I used Naper AI to auto generate descriptive alt text for all product images, then ran a quick sweep in the bulk editor to fix edge cases, which made the whole process much faster without losing control.
The trick most people miss: you don’t have to download your entire product catalog to bulk-edit alt text.
If you’re using Matrixify (formerly Excelify), you can export only the Images sheet — not the full product export. That gives you a small file with just three columns: Handle, Image Src, and Image Alt Text. Edit the alt text column in Google Sheets, reimport just the Images sheet, and you’re done. No touching product data, no variant nightmares, no huge file.

The AI-generated alt text from most apps is garbage because it describes what it “sees” in the image without knowing anything about your products. Writing it yourself takes more time upfront but it’s actually good for SEO because you control the keywords.
@cleo_labs’s Images-sheet trick handles the “huge download” problem you flagged in reply 4. Three columns (Handle, Image Src, Image Alt Text) instead of the whole product export.
But the workflow you described in your original post is something different. “Lined up in a table where I can edit them fast on the go” is a live spreadsheet view, not an export/edit/reimport cycle. Even a small CSV roundtrip is still a roundtrip. You export, edit, reimport, then check it worked.
For that, you need an external tool with a grid view over your Shopify images that writes back to the store directly. Peak PIM (with their DAM & Bulk Edit features) is one option built around exactly that.
The flow:
Install the app on your Shopify store
Your catalog imports into the PIM/DAM
Go to Bulk Edit and select Files
You get a spreadsheet view where you can see your images and edit alt text
When everything’s ready, save and publish back to your Shopify store
