Hi, I’m experiencing a frustrating bug in the Editions theme. Whenever I enter spacing in images in the visual editor in my pages, I’m unable to save that image spacing. I enter the spacing again and again and it always sets back to zero.
Additionally, the picture I am uploading appears blurry - I have edited the photo in Photoshop to adhere with uploading guidelines (2500px x 3750px, saved for web, 5MB).
Rae from Shopify here. I appreciate you posting about the bugs you’re experiencing.
Editions is a third-party theme that’s developed and fully supported by Pixel Union, so I recommend reaching out to them directly for more help with these concerns.
You can contact Pixel Union via the Shopify Theme Store, using this link. Then, just scroll down and select ‘Support and documentation’ and click ‘Get support’.
Equally, Pixel Union can also be contacted directly via their own Help Center, which is linked here.
Please keep me posted on how this goes after you speak with Pixel Union. I look forward to hearing back from you with more details!
Thanks for following up - I figured out that the spacing issue was with my
browser, when I tried editing it in Chrome it worked. I’m still in the
process of figuring out the blurry image upload on the pages with Pixel
Union, no result just yet.
I’m glad to hear the spacing issue was resolved by using a Chrome browser.
In terms of the blurry image upload though, I hope Pixel Union will be able to help further with this. Please feel free to share any information they provide here in this thread, as these details may help other Community users who are also encountering this issue with the Editions theme.
Hi Rae,
I seem to be having issues with the rich text editor not respecting spacing
when I edit photos again.
Since my blurry image issue has been resolved with Pixel Union, I am still
having trouble with the spacing options in rich text editor- when I set
them at more than 0, when I save they default back to zero.
To fix my blurry image issue, there was a bug with the Editions theme which
has now been fixed, however when I upload an image and use the image
adjustments in the rich text editor this distorts the image. To get around
this I can set the image to original aspect ratio and reduce the size
manually, however I am then unable to set spacing around the images.
Are you still using a Chrome browser when working in the rich text editor? I know you mentioned this seemed to resolve the troubles you were having previously, so if you’re not using a Chrome browser currently, this is definitely worth a try.
I also recommend clearing your browser cache by following these steps to see if this helps resolve things.
In the meantime though, can you please send me a few screenshots, or a screen recording, that shows which part of the admin you’re working in, and how you’re using the rich text editor? That way, I can help take a closer look.
