Import email subscribers into an automation

Hello, I am using Shopify Email App for a newsletter drip campaign and I was looking for ways to trigger the automation also for existing Email subscribers. I have an opt-in subscription to make sure my subscribers are motivated to be so.

The automation works well for new subscribers but I can’t seem to find a way to bring all the pre-existing subscribers into the automation.

Any suggestion or work around?

I can suggest a couple of ways to bring pre-existing subscribers into your Shopify email automation:

  • Manually add existing subscribers to the automation: This can be done by manually importing your list of existing subscribers into your email marketing tool and adding them to the automation.

  • Use a sign-up form: You can create a sign-up form for your pre-existing subscribers to opt-in to the email automation. This can be done by creating a page on your website where they can sign up, or you can send them an email with a link to the sign-up form.

  • Segment your email list: Another option is to segment your email list based on whether the subscriber has already been added to the automation. You can then create a separate automation for pre-existing subscribers and manually trigger it for these subscribers.

  • Use a tag-based approach: You can also create a tag for pre-existing subscribers and add this tag to their subscriber profile. Then, you can set up a trigger in your email automation tool to send an email to subscribers with the pre-existing subscriber tag.

Note that these workarounds may require some manual effort and time, but they will ensure that all of your pre-existing subscribers are included in your email automation.

Options 1, 3 and 4 would be all good but:

  1. I am using Shopify Email App and I can’t find where I can upload a list of subscribers to the automation.

  2. I can’t find a trigger based on Segments in the Shopify Email App standard trigger options.

4 I can’t find a trigger based on Tags in the Shopify Email App standard trigger options.

Is there a specific trigger i need to use and setup?
