Having issues uploading products and hoping there is a solution.
What I want to do:
- Download all products (~5000), change data, re-upload.
This doesn’t work as when I go to upload the .CSV file, the number of products I am uploading doesn’t match the preview number of products. So I haven’t pressed the commit button as I’m worried something is wrong.
So instead, I tried 200 products. And I didn’t change the data at all. Just downloaded from my store, deleted all columns aside from handle and title, and deleted rows so there were only 200 products.
However, when I go to import this sheet, the shopify import preview says I’m about to change ~240 products.
So then I tried the same method, but only the 1st 100 products. Shopify preview is accurate and says I’m going to update 100 products.
So I tried the same method, but products 101 to 200. Shopify preview is accurate and says I’m going to change 100 products.
But if I try products 1 to 150 it’s again inaccurate and says I’m about to change ~180 products. I’ve tried various numbers of products and it seems that it is only accurate with about 100 products.
Anyone know what is going on here?
I need a reliable way to download all products, change the data and upload. I’m not comfortable that the import preview says a different number of products are about to be changed than what my CSV says.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. 
Note: I am using UTF-8 and using Excel to delete the rows in the examples about.
