Importing Product Pictures and Descriptions

Topic summary

A user is migrating their shop from Shopware to Shopify and needs guidance on efficiently importing large volumes of product images and descriptions, then properly assigning them to the correct products.

Key Details:

  • They will not be using Printful marketplace images in the new shop, so those won’t be imported
  • Current limitation: They can only provide product titles and bullet points below the title, but not additional description information in accordion menus
  • Printful serves as an anchor across all their shops

Response:
Another user suggested using a CSV file to bulk import products into the store, though the original poster clarified they’re specifically asking about importing product pictures and descriptions separately, not the products themselves.

Status: The discussion remains open with the core question about the best method for bulk image and description import still unanswered.

Hello,

we are Relaunching a Shop on Shopify (current System: Shopware). Since we have a lot of Products, we wonder what the best way is to Import a lot of Pictures and assign them to the respective Products.

We have the same problem for importing product descriptions (and assigning them to the product). We use Plentymarkets as an Anchor for all of our Shops, but it is only able to provide the product Title and bullet points below the title (and not info in the accordeon Menu).

Note: We most likely not use the plentymarkets pictures in the shop, thus we are not importing the pics from there.

Best Regards
Chris

Hey Chris!

Not 100% sure if I get what you’re asking but if I wanted to import a bunch of products into my store the best route would be to use a CSV file

Hey! I am specifically talking about Product Pictures and -descriptions, not the prodcut itself.

Best Regards
Chris
