Improving ATC & Conversion Rates

How can we improve our Add-to-Cart (ATC) rate and increase our overall conversion rate? We are a sustainable fashion apparel brand.

@MarketingOps pretty broad question, but here’s what I’d focus on first: talk to your existing customers.

Survey your customer list or run on-site polls asking two things:

  1. What almost prevented you from buying?

  2. What helped you make the purchase decision?

That’ll give you one of the best pictures of where your real opportunities are.

In my experience, as long as your site works reasonably well and meets basic usability standards, improving ATC and conversion rates has a lot to do with messaging - your value proposition and how you communicate your brand to customers.

It’s not about checklists or copying what competitors are doing. It’s about finding what resonates with your specific audience and doubling down on communicating that clearly throughout your funnel.

Once you know what makes people buy (or what almost stops them), make sure new visitors are exposed to that information early on.
